The Oakland Raiders lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 23-20 at Lincoln Financial Field. K David Akers 23-yard field goal with :09 left in the game was the difference. Raiders QB Kerry Collins completed 24 of 42 for 345 yards and 2 TDs, including the tying score to WR Doug Gabriel with 2:17 left in the game.

The Raiders won the opening coin toss and elected to receive. Rookie CB Chris Carr returned K David Akers opening kickoff to the Raiders 26. The Eagles were called for offsides and the Raiders elected to have the Eagles re-kick. Carr fielded Akers' squib kick and returned it to the Raiders 32. The Eagles were offsides again. Akers left the game after re-aggravating a leg injury. TE Mike Bartrum came on to kick off on the re-kick. Batrum's kickoff went out of bounds for a third penalty. The Raiders took over at midfield. RB LaMont Jordan carried the ball over the right side and the Eagles were called for offsides. On 1st and 5, Jordan picked up a yard. QB Kerry Collins connected with TE Courtney Anderson deep down the left side for a 36-yard gain. The Eagles defense stuffed Jordan on a 1st and goal play. Collins then hit Jordan on a swing pass for an 8-yard touchdown play. K Sebastian Janikowski's successful PAT put the Raiders up 7-0 with 12:22 left in the 1st quarter.

SS Dexter Wynn returned Janikowski's ensuing kickoff to the Eagles 19. QB Donovan McNabb's first pass of the game was complete to RB Brian Westbrook for a 6-yard pickup. CB Renaldo Hill then broke up a pass intended for WR Greg Lewis. McNabb's third down pass intended for WR Terrell Owens was too far out in front and fell incomplete.

Carr returned P Dirk Johnson's 40-yard punt 10 yards to the Raiders 45. Collins then hit Jordan on a jailbreak screen pass for a 12-yard gain and a first down at the Philadelphia 43. WR Jerry Porter was then dropped in the backfield by DT Hollis Thomas on a reverse. On 2nd and 18. Collins then connected with WR Randy Moss for 22 yards and a 1st down at the 29. The Eagles defense bottled Jordan up on a running play up the middle. On 2nd and 12, Collins attempted tight end screen pass for Anderson was broken up by DE Jevon Kearse. Collins' third down pass for Jordan sailed out of bounds. Janikowski came on and hit the left upright on a 49-yard field goal attempt. The Eagles took over at their own 39 with 8:35 left in the 1st quarter.

McNabb's first down pass was batted in the air by DE Bobby Hamilton and almost intercepted. McNabb then missed a wide open Westbrook in the left flat. On 3rd and 10, the Raiders defense stopped a Lewis reverse short of the first down. Johnson came on to punt on 4th and 2.

Carr returned Johnson's 36-yard punt to the Raiders 19. The Raiders were then called for false start. Collins' pass for Porter along the right sideline was overthrown. On 2nd and 15, Jordan started right and cut back to his left and picked up 14 yards. On 3rd and 1, RB Zack Crockett picked up the first down with a 2-yard burst up the middle. Jordan then ran right into the teeth of an Eagles' blitz and was stopped for no gain. CB Sheldon Brown broke up a pass for Porter. On 3rd and 10, Collins was forced to scramble, was hit and fumbled. Moss recovered the fumble. Wynn returned P Shane Lechler's 39-yard punt four yards to the Philadelphia 31.

McNabb hit RB Lamar Gordon on a swing pass for a gain of 5. An offensive holding call wiped out a Westbrook run. On 2nd and 15, McNabb found TE L.J. Smith over the middle for a 13-yard pickup. On 3rd and 2, Smith caught a McNabb pass for a gain of 7 and the Eagles first 1st down of the day. A Westbrook run went nowhere and then McNabb found Lewis for a gain of 23. Owens then caught a pass for 11 yards over the middle. DT Warren Sapp then intercepted a deflected pass and returned it to the Raiders 20.

LB Jeremiah Trotter then dropped Jordan in the backfield for a 5-yard loss. Collins' 2nd down pass was incomplete and the Eagles stopped Jordan for no gain forcing a punt. Wynn returned Lechler's 50-yard punt. An illegal block in the back penalty backed the Eagles up to the 27.

Rookie CB Fabian Washington dropped Lewis after a 4-yard pass play. CB Charles Woodson then laid Owens out after a 3-yard reception. On 3rd and 3, rookie WR Reggie Brown converted with a 6-yard pickup. The Raiders then stuffed a Westbrook run. The Raiders were then called for pass interference, giving the Eagles a first down at the Oakland 49. McNabb's first down pass was overthrown and almost picked off. A Westbrook draw play gained 6 and set up 3rd and 4. The Raiders were called for illegal contact, giving the Eagles a first down at the Oakland 38. Hill dropped Gordon in the backfield on first down. A McNabb screen pass for Westbrook fell incomplete. Sapp crushed McNabb from behind and forced an incomplete pass, brining up 4th down. Johnson's punt was downed at the Raiders 13 where Oakland took over with 10:05 left in the 2nd quarter.

A deep pass for Moss was broken up by CB Lito Sheppard. After no gain on 2nd down, Collins' 3rd down pass fell incomplete. Wynn returned Lechler's punt to the Raiders 46.

McNabb was forced out of the pocket and threw incomplete. Smith then dropped a high, arcing pass deep down field. On 3rd and 10, Gordon caught a pass over the middle and was stopped short of the first down.

Johnson's punt was downed at the Raiders 3-yard line. The Eagl;les held the Raiders to a three-and-out and forced a punt. Wynn called for and made a fair catch at the Raiders 49.

Woodson then broke up a deep pass down the left sideline intended for Owens. DT Tommy Kelly then broke loose for a sack but the Raiders were called for defensive holding, giving the Eagles an automatic first down at the 44. Westbrook then ripped off a 10-yard gain. McNabb's first down pass fell incomplete. Westbrook then picked up four yards over the left side. On 3rd and 6, McNabb found Lewis for a first down at the Raiders 18. Westbrook danced into the end zone with an 18-yard touchdown run. LB Mark Simoneau's extra point attempt was blocked.

WR Doug Gabriel returned Bartrum's kickoff to the Raiders 39. After runs by Crockett and Jordan, the Raiders faced 3rd and 2. Collins hit Porter for a gain of 15 to the Eagles 38. Collins then found WR Alvis Whitted for 18 yards to the Eagles 20. After a short Crockett run, Moss caught a 4-yard pass. On 3rd and 5, the Eagles were called for offsides. The penalty resulted in a 1st down at the Eagles 10. Two plays later, the Raiders faced 3rd and goal at the 10. The Raiders were called for holding. The Eagles declined and the Raiders faced 4th down. Janikowski's 28-yard field goal gave the Raiders a 10-6 lead with :49 left in the 2nd quarter.

Wynn returned Janikowski's ensuing kickoff to the Eagles 26. The Raiders forced the Eagles into a three-and-out and took their final time out to stop the clock with :15 left in the half. Carr returned Johnson's punt. An illegal block in the back penalty backed the Raiders up to their own 18. Collins took a knee to end the half.

The Eagles got the ball to start the second half. A roughing the passer call gave the Eagles a first down at their own 44. After a 12-yard Westbrook run, McNabb connected with Gordon for a 7-yard gain. Westbrook kept the chains moving with a 4-yard gain to the Raiders 32. After an incomplete pass, McNabb found Smith for 8 yards. On 3rd and 2, McNabb scrambled for 5 yards and a 1st down. McNabb the hit Owens for 10 yards and a first down setting up 1st and goal inside the Raiders 10. After a 5-yard pass to Owens over the middle, McNabb found T.O. over the middle for the score. Akers' PAT gave the Eagles a 13-10 lead with 10:20 left in the 3rd quarter.

Carr returned Bartrum's squib kick 20 yards to the Raiders 39. After a 9-yard pass to Anderson, Jordan was dropped in the backfield for a 2-yard loss. On 3rd and 3, Collins' pass for Jordan was broken up. Wynn called for and made a fair catch on a 42-yard Lechler punt at the Philadelphia 12.

After a short pass to Smith and no gain on a Westbrook run, the Eagles faced 3rd and 5. McNabb was chased and dropped by LB DeLawrence Grant, forcing the Eagles to punt. After a penalty on the Raiders, Philadelphia faced 4th and short. Carr fielded Johnson's punt and was dropped immediately at the Raiders 43.

After a 6-yard pass to Anderson, a pass to Jordan was wiped out by a major facemask penalty. On 2nd and 20, Jordan picked up 9 on a draw play up the middle. On 3rd and 11, Collins hit Gabriel on the jailbreak screen for a gain of 8. Lechler's punt bounded into the end zone for a touchback. An illegal block in the back pushed the Eagles back to their own 10.

After a 3-yard Westbrook run, Lewis caught a short pass from McNabb. On 3rd and 1, McNabb hit Westbrook for a gain of 62 and a first down at the Raiders 19. FS Stuart Schweigert saved a touchdown. Westbrook then capped off the drive after taking a shovel pass from McNabb and scampering in from 5 yards out. Akers PAT gave the Eagles 20-10 lead with :45 left in the 3rd quarter.

Carr returned Bartrum's kickoff to the Raiders 41. Several plays later, the Raiders closed the gap to 20-13 with a 26-yard Janikowski field goal. Roderick Hood returned the ensuing kickoff to the Eagles 29.

McNabb then hit Westbrook for a 37-yard gain to the Raiders 34. A few plays later, the Raiders caused and recovered a fumble inside their own 5-yard line.

After a 17-yard pass to Moss, a short Jordan run and a 12-yard pass to Moss, the Raiders had a first down at their own 30. Collins then hit Whitted for 13 yards and a first down. After a 4-yard pass to Jordan, another pass to Jordan gave the Raiders a first down at the Eagles 47. Collins then hit Jordan for a 23-yard pickup to the 21. After a 2-yard Fargas run, a pass for Anderson in the end zone was broken up. On 3rd and 8, Collins' pass for Jordan in the end zone was batted down. Janikowski came on and missed a 37-yard field goal with 5:20 left to play.

The Raiders held the Eagles to a three-and-out. Johnson's punt was downed at the Raiders 35. Two plays later, the Raiders faced 3rd and 10. After a false start penalty, the Raiders were faced with 3rd and 15. Collins hit Moss for a 31-yard gain to the Eagles 39. Collins was then forced to throw the ball away. On 2nd and 10, SS Michael Lewis dropped a potential victory-sealing interception. On 3rd and 10, Collins found Anderson over the middle for a 17-yard pickup to the 22. After a false start penalty, the Raiders faced 1st and 15. Collins hit Gabriel for a 27-yard touchdown. Janikowski's PAT tied the game at 20 with 2:17 left to play.

Hood fielded Janikowski's kickoff and took a knee for a touchback. The Eagles drove deep into Raiders territory. Akers came on and drilled a field goal to put the Eagles up 23-20 with :09 left.
