Collins Voted FedEx NFL Air Player of the Week

Only days after being named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Giants QB Kerry Collins joined Dolphins RB Ricky Williams as the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on September 21-22, the NFL announced today.

Collins completed 24 of 39 attempts for 276 yards and three touchdowns for a passer rating of 108.5 in the Giants’ 24-21 overtime win over Washington.

Williams rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on a career-and team-record 42 carries in the Dolphins’ 17-7 win over Buffalo.

Collins and Williams were selected from among three finalists in air and ground categories. The other FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week finalists were Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and Washington Redskins quarterback Patrick Ramsey, while Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes and Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis were the other finalists for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.
